Striped Bento

Striped Bento

Today’s bento was inspired by the two “piggies in a blanket” that I had left in the freezer from last week.  I placed one in each EasyLunchBox, and then began peeling a carrot for my Girlie.  She’s been very enthusiastic about the carrots that come from the CSA with the tops still on and I knew she’d be excited to see one in her lunch.  Once I realized I had two long thin, objects, I decided to do a few rows of stripes to fill in the rest.  She’s got hot dog, carrot, sugar snap peas, cheese stick, and cherry tomatoes.   There are strawberries and applesauce in the smaller compartments.

Little Dude has hot dog, banana with peanut butter in the middle, and goldfish in a flower cup.  He has strawberries and yogurt in his smaller compartments.

These simple lunches truly took less than 10 minutes to pull together.  We had a very busy weekend and I had no time for meal planning or even a trip to the grocery store!  I love it when I can just grab things out of the fridge and freezer and still put together a lunch that is healthy and colorful looking.
